Stupid XBox 360

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

So I bought a used 360 a couple months back. Things were glorious for a while as I played my games and was content with the world. And then, as I was rocking out with some Guitar Hero, my screen started turning red. Turned off the system and started it back up to only have no video! Well, I did the towel trick (you wrap the system in a towel until it overheats and it supposedly remelts solder points) and it fixed it!

Things were good once again, until of course, the same thing happened again. And again. Now I have to repair it myself because I opened it up previously for, ahem, some other reason =) Stupid thing. That system has a horrible failure rate. A co-worker of mine got the RRoD and had to send his back.

I like my PS3 and Wii though =P

My Monitor

Monday, January 14th, 2008

I think my monitor is about to die. I’ve noticed that the colors are a good amount duller than my tv and my monitors at work. There is also this new very subtle scrolling pattern when it’s displaying a mostly white screen. It’s an old school 19 inch CRT, so it takes up a huge portion of my desk. I’ll be glad once it’s gone, but I remember spending a good amount of money on this a while back. Do you guys still have CRTs?

Happy New Year!

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Happy New Year everyone! It’s 2008 now and that means all of us probably have some form of New Year’s resolution.  If you don’t, then come up with one =)  I want to try and eat better food and not frozen stuff from Costco.  Also wanna work out or something like that.  Generally just try to not treat my body like crap, which I have been doing ever since my first year of college.  How about you guys? What kind of stuff do you guys want to accomplish in this new year?

New Year’s resolutions seem to never stick though it seems, at least for me.  I think I’ve only managed to keep up on one of them, but that is better than none.  I’d really like for this year’s one to stick, but that’s all up to me.  Hopefully I can do it =)
