I’m thinking about making the switch from digital cable over to satellite. I just bought a nice HDTV, but my biggest problem is that Time Warner Cable doesn’t have a lot of HD channels in their lineup. They have Discovery Theater HD, but no Discovery HD or Animal Planet HD. That means no Planet Earth or Blue Planet! They have all the standard local ones like NBC and ABC, but I guess I just want some more channels to make good use of the tv.

That being said, I’ve been looking at Dish Network and it seems pretty sweet. They have a ton of HD channels and also a huge selection of other channels. They even have Gameplay HD, a channel dedicated to gaming! They show tournaments on tv and everything! Sorry, got excited =P

Only thing I would worry about is how trustworthy satellite service is. I’ve never had it before, so I really have very little idea about what to expect. I’ve heard that during storms and when it’s windy, you will may lose signal, but other than that it’s supposed to be pretty good.

Now that I think about it, maybe I’m just switching to get Gameplay HD. It just sounds so cool (if you’re a dork like me =P)

I might have bad luck with flying. So far, I’ve had 4 flights canceled on me and 3 missed connections over the past year. 2 of those missed connections got me stuck in Chicago’s O’Hare, but luckily I have a friend who lives in Chicago so I didn’t have to sleep at the airport.

Just this weekend, I had 2 flights canceled for 2 different reasons and my rebooking almost didn’t go through because the person on the phone didn’t complete my ticketing. Didn’t find that out until the next day though. Almost had front row seats to a fist fight in line too at LaGuardia because someone cut and didn’t think they did. Also have been delayed an infinite number of times. Other than all that stuff though, flying has been great =P

Got a haircut today. Very exciting. One thing was very weird about it though.

When I got there, I had to wait for the barber to finish up with the current customer. I started flipping through the usual stack of magazines any normal place has for when you’re sitting around. You know what magazines were in there? Penthouse and Playboy! And several of each of them! I was expecting a Maxim or FHM or something, but nothing like that, dang.

Well, I guess this place is clearly a guys’ barber shop. A straight guys’ barber shop =P Whatever kind of barber shop it is though, I’m very happy with it because he cut my hair very well!
