Birthday/Cancer
Hhmmm, maybe I should come up with a better title for this blog post…
It’s Drew (the not Justin). I have two things to talk about. The first is Relay For Life, which is a really great charity event that takes place at parks and schools all across the U.S., and it benefits the American Cancer Society. Relay is all about remembering people we’ve lost to cancer, and raising money on their behalf in an effort to fight the disease.
On a seemingly unrelated note, my birthday is next week! I’ll be 24, I think, which is a cool number because it’s divisible by a crap-ton of other numbers. Also, it means that next year will be a perfect square! Woohoo! Shutup! I normally wouldn’t advertise my birthday publicly, so maybe this raises questions…
“Drew, your comics are so funny, and you’ve made some of my favorite animations, how can I celebrate the greatness that is your birthday?”
Effusive though you are, it would be weird of me to ask you for birthday gifts, but I just had an idea. If you feel like it, how about you donate to my relay team? I promise, any small amount will be ridiculously appreciated.
“But Drew, I live so far away from you I think. How on Earth could I send donations?”
Using the internet! Just visit the previously linked donation page.
An even BETTER reason for you to donate is in remembrance of someone in your life affected by cancer. It’s one of the best ways to honor such a loved one.
Thank you!
-Drew
happy birthday to Drew
(the non Justin)
i'd run, but its hard to whilst in England =D
happy birthday
i hope it's a good-un…
I would also run, but I can't as I'm in England… I might do the race for life though, which is also for cancer research, but in the UK (^_^) good luck and all that stuff!
Best wishes on your birthday Drew. Like the above I would have love to run but cannot as I am downunder in Sydney. As part of my writing for charity principles I am donating all my royalties from my latest book to Cancervive, India, a small regional charity based in Mangalore. Cancervive, India provides care and support to children with terminal cancer at hospitals around the Mangalore district.

All best with the run.
Happy birthday Drew! I WANT to run for cancer, but alas… i am out of shape and would much rather just make a donation. And I am from Canada and eating maple syrup.
Hah!
Americans can run!! Our team is running in a similar relay Drew- but we'll toss some donations towards the Plaid Ninja Master, since that's our heroic inspiration source. Oh, and:
—Happy Birthday—
I am actually a cancer survivor. Kicked its ass and my first year of grad school at the same time! While I eased the pain of it by dealing with my cancer lightly (I openly joked "it's because I have cancer"), I don't take other peoples cancer lightly. Unfortunately, I have no money. So you don't get any donations from me. I'll gladly take any donations people would like to send my way though!
And happy birthday.
I don`t get the comic called "no need to investigate". this is the first time that has happened, could some one please help me understand it?
thank you.
Two plus two is four.
Also, yay all you good people doing things for cancer patients!
Best wishes for you birthday – I can't wait to not be a prime number, but I have over 10 months to wait. Harrumph. I'd really like to donate, but I just spent most of my money for fabrics to sew dolls for the local children's hospital – I feel bad for these kids, because I royally suck at sewing. They'll hold the doll and ask if they're going to look that bad after surgery (what with one leg significantly longer than the other, a deflated head, and a needle lost somewhere in the stuffing.)
*Failure*
This started out as a birthday wish….. Tying it back to the beginning (badly): Happy birthday!!
W00t!
My age is a perfect square too!
Anyway…
Happy birthday Drew!
It's good that you're doing things to help people. ^^
Meaning my age is a perfect square /now/ and yours will be next year
or something.
That sentence just turned out wrong. XD
but what`s that thing hanging off the four?
i don`t get it
It's a gun. The number '4' shot him.
I just noticed that you & Justin made LHTs about pooping birds less than a week between each other.
It's so cool that you're doing Relay for Life. I used to participate as a team captain in middle school, but now I just help people out by donating. ^_^
Annnnd not Justin, happy early birthday!
Happy birthday Drew!
I just did Relay for Life with my school's theatre group this past weekend. But good luck with the money raising!
I, like Kyler, am a survivor. It's probably not a coincidence that two people who read your comic deal with cancer through humor. I made light of it constantly, to the point where I sometimes worried whether I was offending other survivors or families or whomever.
Unfortunately, I'm still paying for the treatment, so no $$ to pass along. Maybe next year.
hey Drew! I saw you got runner-up in the Beaver & Steve competition(no, I'm not stalking you). just wanted to say I thought yours was the best- it should totally have won.
keep being awesome and doing what you're doing.
ooh and Happy Birthday!
Hi, first comment on here.
A. Love the comics.
B. Also turning 24 this year, and I love that fact for precisely the reason you mentioned even though I'm so not a math nerd, so that's awesome.
