Party!

So, there was this crazy party inside our server and they kinda broke a couple images. So if you see a toon with a missing or weird image, it will be fixed by tonight.

When did you start putting the blog entries in the RSS?

And am I the only person who REALLY REALLY hates that you did? Seriously, DO NOT WANT.

We did this when we added the comic images.

Can you do me a favor and help me understand why this is a problem? I don't really use RSS readers myself, so some of the nuances may be lost on me. Our main concern is being able to announce to the RSS-only readers bits of site news, like new t-shirts, etc. Mixing the blog in with the rest of the feed seemed like an easy, reasonable way to do that.

When I view our feed in google reader, it looks easy enough to skip over the blog posts. Is there some usage pattern that really makes this a bigger problem than we're realizing?

Guys, if you agree, please let us know.

Nah, it isn't a huge issue really. I'm just weird.

I don't actually view using a proper RSS reader, I just have a bunch of live bookmarks in my toolbar, which only display the title of the entry, so I don't know if something is a blog post or a comic until I've clicked on it.

I personally love that the blogs are now included in the RSS. The more site content you give me through the RSS feed, the better, as I see it.

You should also make some sort of hidden RSS for Bizarro LHT. Just a thought.

Okay uh… I've never used RSS, I don't even know what it is or what it is abbreviated from…

What does this entail, RSSing more stuff, or any?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It essentially publishes out "feeds" (aka posts or stories) to different readers so that you can get alerts whenever there's a new feed and read them directly from the viewer, or get linked directly from it.

I personally use iGoogle as my homepage and link it to my favorite left handed toons site and other RSS feeds from different news/tech sites that I'm interested in so I can read up on their latest stories.

    … how will we know?

RSS is just an excuse for lazy people to read text.
